Experience of traditional cultures

T he real pleasure of travelling is to come into contact with traditional cultures.  Some Welcome Inns give the guests a chance to experience various Japanese cultures such as Origami (the art of creating various forms by folding papers), Kimono wearing, Tea ceremony, Flower arrangement, Calligraphy, Weaving, Kyogen (traditional comic drama), Haiku and Tanka poem.  Learning how to make Soba (buckwheat noodle) and Japanese sweets are recommendable for a good cook.  If you are interested in Buddhism, you can also join Zen sitting meditation and morning service.
